Mad Men Sofa Makes Beautifully Renovated Condo, Beautiful

Overview The homeowner for this project had done a beautiful job renovating her condo. It had a great south-facing view of the city, a nice layout and a stunning kitchen. There were just some pieces of furniture that didn’t quite do the trick in helping showcase the property in its best possible light. When I looked at this living room, all I could see was putting in a beautiful cream leather sofa with a matching cream leather side chair. They would go great with the homeowner’s very cool Jetsons-esqe end tables and great new flooring. However, the furniture rental company did not have any available, and I trudged around the showroom in a daze thinking of alternatives. I never considered a darker sofa, but I stared long and hard at the piece shown in the photograph and said to myself - “this is gonna work”. A contemporary side chair, with cream and grey, throw in a glass table to work with the glass Jetsons end tables and some fun chrome lamps and voila, I had my Mad Men set.

A few additional pieces were brought into the kitchen to showcase an eat-in kitchen and the agents brought in some accessories and lights as well that put the unit together.  From my end I took on the following: Scope of work included: *staging consultation, measuring and space planning *selection and coordinating furniture rental, and accessories to combine with existing pieces and some items from agent *light staging work - accessory placement, hanging art The results provided a simple modern presentation with a few artful touches to appeal to the young, single, professional, demographic. WHAT THE CLIENT SAID “Our big concern was to make sure prospective buyers were able to focus on the wonderful modern renovations the client did. We didn’t want buyers to come in and not be able to see great features because of the layout and scale of the furniture. The client was very much on board with us and she was very pleased with the pieces Kathleen brought in.” Jen D.
